The National Choice Single Malt Scotch Whisky Cask Strength Caol Ila Distillery Vintage 2008

2008 Vintage, Bottled in 2021- Cask Type Sherry Octave Here we have the wildcard in the pack – The Caol Ila 2008 The National Choice Joker. The National Choice series is a collaboration with Tiger’s Finest Selection from Taiwan, with each whisky being named after a card in a royal flush hand of poker. Poker fans will know however that the joker is the odd one out here, but clearly the whisky was so good they felt they had to include it in the pack! Caol Ila comes from the Gaelic “Caol Ìle” which means Sound of Islay. This is where the distillery is perched, looking over the strait between Islay and Jura. Aged since 2008 in Sherry Octave no. 363539, this whisky is bottled at cask strength and packs a real punch. With only 65 bottles produced this is one rare card indeed.
