Shibui Japanese Single Grain Whisky Aged 30 Years

Shibui Single Grain 30 Year is distilled in Okinawa in stainless steel pot stills from Indicia rice and Okinawan black koji. The whisky is matured for 30 years in three types of casks: ex-bourbon, sherry, and European virgin white oak. "As one would expect from a spirit with such extended ageing, the Shibui 30 year is oaky and tannic with a dryness offset by restrained vanilla notes. Look also for hints of leather and date with a bit of brine on the finish that lasts for days. It's a subdued and multilayered offering that draws well from its three types of casks."
