The vineyard stands at the very site of an historic battle in which the 188th Armored Brigade of the IDF fought bravely, to near annihilation during the Yom Kippur War of 1973. When Israel faced a surprise attack by neighboring Arab states on the most solemn day of the Jewish calendar. Thus, Yoav Levy, founder, and winemaker of Bazelet HaGolan named the vineyard and this new wine series in honor of, and as a tribute to the 188th Armored Brigade of the IDF - and, indeed, to the State of Israel in general as can be seen from the Israeli flag proudly displayed on the bottle's cap.
