Macallan’s master whisky maker, Bob Dalgarno, has created a masterpiece in The Macallan M Highland Single Malt Scotch that has been elegantly described as nothing less than the best of the Macallan’s 1824 series. The M is dubbed to deliver an elegantly well balanced single malt whisky that is sure to satiate the discriminating nostrils and palates of the world’s whisky connoisseurs.

The Macallan Distillers, Ltd., based in Craigellachie in Moray, Scotland, just happens to be one of the world’s largest sellers of single malt whiskies registering close to a million cases every year. Although rocked with controversies in the early turn of the century, the Macallan Distillers nonetheless netted a whopping 460,000 USD for a 64-year old Macallan single malt whisky that was beautifully bottled in a crystal decanter made by Lalique at a Sotheby’s auction in 2010. The feat made it the most expensive whisky that was ever sold at an auction and was duly recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records two years after.

The Creation
The creation of the ultimate Macallan, the M, required the careful and precision selection of seven of the finest and well-seasoned oloroso sherry oak casks sourced directly from Jerez, Spain. Dalgarno made effective use of the distinct colors of the spirits in different types of casks to create a beautiful blend of richness, flavor, and color to create a truly remarkable character that is unmistakably ‘M’.

The Macallan’s penchant for using only the finest source of water in the River Spey as well as their own fields of Golden Promise barley all lend credence to the stature of the Macallan as one of the world’s heavyweights when it comes to Scotch whisky. The Macallan’s spirits stills are considered the smallest in the whisky-producing region of Speyside. But this is not without a perfectly good reason. A smaller still will allow for maximum contact between the spirit and the copper in order to concentrate the spirit and bring about the much desired richness and viscosity coupled with the fruity and full-bodied flavors that have been characteristically Macallan.

Putting the world-renowned spirit in ordinary looking whisky bottles will do not justice to this wonderful creation. The Experience
